Essential Winter Weather – One-day course

Critical to safe and efficient operations, this course teaches the essentials required to make informed decisions relating to winter conditions - a must for anyone involved in winter operations.

By the end of the course you will have:

  • improved knowledge of interpreting winter weather for planning — what causes the weather, where it comes from and what problems are likely to occur
  • an understanding of how weather affects your runways and how winter weather conditions affect de-icing operations
  • the ability to manage difficult, marginal situations
  • knowledge of how aviation forecasts are produced and the skill to interpret them
