- Data for a specific location, such as daily rainfall and temperature data for Heathrow for June 2006 or monthly data for Edgbaston for 1965.
- A copy of an article you have seen on our catalogue, whether we hold it in print or electronically.
Membership - how to join
The National Meteorological Library and Archive is open to everyone.
If you want to borrow Library material you will need to become a member. Complete the membership form (PDF, 79 kb) and send it to us, or bring it in when you visit, together with proof of ID and address (a photocopy is sufficient if you send the form to us).
Library material is available for loan for a three-week period and you can borrow up to 10 items at once.
Send your images to us
Many of our images are sent in by individuals, who retain copyright of their pictures and agree to allow the Met Office to make them available for others to see. Images can only be used with the copyright holder's permission.
If you would like to submit one of your images for possible inclusion in the collection, please e-mail us at metlib@metoffice.gov.uk. Include a copy of the image, your name and the date and location the picture was taken.
Copyright
If the copy is for research or private study for a non-commercial purpose you may copy one chapter from a book or one article from a journal without paying a copyright fee. You will need to complete and sign a copyright declaration.
If you require a copy for research or study for a commercial purpose you must pay a copyright fee for each item you copy.
