The Met Office regrets that a legal weather report service for customers requiring land-based weather data is no longer available. Further, Met Office members of staff are not available to act as expert witnesses in court or any other authority of competent jurisdiction.
We still provide a legal weather report service for customers requiring marine and aviation data. Please contact our Customer Centre for further assistance.
We are able to provide past-weather data for specific locations across the UK. These weather data are raw data recorded from our observing stations and our staff do not and will not make any analysis or commentary about the data or interpret the data in any way.
The Met Office has a significant number of observing stations across the UK which routinely record weather data and contribute to our extensive observations database. We can provide you with observational data from the nearest site or sites to an incident. Whilst the Met Office makes reasonable endeavours to provide accurate weather information, should an incident occur some distance away from an observation site, or is in a region which is geographically varied, then the information provided may not be representative of the weather conditions present at the time and location of the incident.
If you require observational data, please contact our Customer Centre for further assistance.
