Providing essential flight information to aviators around the globe On behalf of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), we have developed and operate the SAtellite DIStribution (SADIS) system. These pages provide general information on the satellite data distribution system (SADIS) and the accompanying services that users can access. SADIS is a high quality, cost-effective and error-free satellite data distribution system that brings vital flight information to aviation users around the world. It provides a point to multi-point service in real-time on a 24-hour basis via satellite.
The SADIS uplink is located at the Cable & Wireless Communications hub at Whitehill Earth Station, north of Oxford in the UK. The SADIS 2G service was launched in September 2004. It is expected that existing SADIS 1G users and prospective new users, will have moved onto this system by 31 December 2008. The SADIS FTP service was launched in July 2005, and offers all approved SADIS or ISCS users an internet source of WAFS and OPMET data.
