Staying dry with spells of sunshine, the sunshine turning hazy at times as high cloud thickens. Some drizzle and mist may reach the southwest towards evening. Light winds at first becoming moderate southerly. Maximum temperature 14 °C. Tonight:A mainly dry start but cloud will thicken to bring a little rain overnight. Light to moderate southwesterly winds and mild. Minimum temperature 11 °C. Monday:A cloudy start with patchy rain, mainly in west, gradually clearing from the north to sunny spells, and just the odd shower. Moderate southwest winds veering west and easing. This gives moderate to high confidence in the general pattern, but makes attempting any day to day detail difficult. After a decent start in southeastern parts, the first few days are likely to become fairly unsettled and windy across all parts, rain or showers and strong to gale force northwesterly winds in the north extending southeastwards. This unsettled type will continue for northern and northwestern Britain particularly, but with a hint that southern and southeastern Britain sees a return to somewhat drier and less windy conditions during the second half of the period. Temperatures, typically near normal at first in the south and east, will tend towards normal or a little below normal everywhere.
