This gadget will give you the latest observation and forecast data in a sidebar anchored to the side of the Windows Vista desktop. The range of information available can be scrolled through on flyouts.

Download and install the gadget
- Click download gadget below
- When you see the file download screen, choose Open
- Click Allow and Install when prompted, the gadget will then be installed
- Ensure that the Windows sidebar is enabled by clicking on the Windows sidebar icon on the system tray
- At the top of the windows sidebar, open the Gadget Gallery by clicking on the + of the gadget bar.
Select the Met Office weather gadget and drag to the sidebar
- A message will be automatically displayed in your gadget's window when a new version is available
Customise the weather gadget
To the top right of the gadget, click on the tools icon to select your preferences. There are 2 tabs to customise the appearance of your gadget.
- You can select your preferred location for My weather
- You can select your preferred region for warnings and forecasts
To display the flyouts, click the extras button.
Uninstall the weather gadget
- Clicking the close icon to the top right of the gadget removes the gadget from the sidebar without uninstalling
- At the top of the Windows sidebar, open the Gadget Gallery by clicking on the + of the gadget bar
- Right click on the Met Office weather gadget and select Uninstall
