Risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms in places today.
A murky start in parts of the east this morning, otherwise a mix of some bright or sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heavy and thundery at times, especially across Northern Ireland, north Scotland and southern England.
Showers continuing this evening but tending to ease across the southwest overnight. Turning rather cloudy across the east, with a more persistent band of rain reaching eastern England later.
A band of heavy rain likely to move northwards across eastern and perhaps some central parts. Western areas continuing to see a mix of sunshine and heavy showers.
Rain gradually clearing to the north during Thursday and Friday, with brighter skies and a few showers following. Many places drier on Saturday, but showers move into the west later.
Updated:
On Sunday, the weather is likely to be a mix of showers and warm sunshine. A band of rain may move in from the west later, but this will become weak as it pushes east across the UK. By Bank Holiday Monday, there may still be some showers around, otherwise it will be dry and fine, and feeling warm in the sunshine. Into the following week, once any showers have cleared, more settled conditions are more likely for most, with the best of the weather likely in the southwest. Rain may threaten northwestern areas at times, and there is a chance that southern or eastern areas may see the odd heavy or thundery outbreak of showers. Temperatures are likely to remain a little above average, with some regional variation.
Updated:
Relatively weak signals for conditions to be markedly different from climatology through to the middle of June. That said, both temperatures and rainfall are more-likely to be a little above average overall, with further rain or showers, possibly heavy/thundery at times, and possibly slightly more likely in the southern half of the UK, but also some spells of warm sunshine.
